So we got a little storm yesterday. Didn’t seem like much at the time, until i got home & realized we had no power! A power outage! Been awhile since this has happened. Last time it only lasted 2-3 hours & everything & most everybody was restored back to normal fairly quickly. This time around (yesterday), it started somewhere between 2-3 pm on Saturday & as of yet, Sunday night, still no power! DTE says power should be restored around midnight tonite. Yay, an hour and a half to go! Maybe….

Thank goodness for the wonder of a generator! This is the stuff you need when you live out here in the country. Otherwise, you’re left in the dark… amongst other bad stuff like overflowing sumps, spoiled food in the fridge, etc., etc.

Then again, even with a generator, it still isn’t life nearly as normal. You gotta have gas to run them, and it wasn’t much fun waiting half an hour to fill up my 5- 5 gallon containers at the gas station. Man, with the amount of people and cars who were waiting in line to fill up their jugs, you’d have thought that gas was priced at 99 cents again if you didn’t know better!
Of course, it wasn’t that cheap, (and I doubt it’ll EVER be that inexpensive again) just that there was a rush of people trying to get gas to run their own generators. That was early Saturday evening. Come Sunday Night, the one gas station I went to was limiting gas to JUST 5 gallons per person because they were running out! A gas shortage!  Ouch! Good thing the power outage is suppose to be over in a few hours!

I’m glad this doesn’t happen to often, as boy, are we ever spoiled with the modern conveniences of the world today…
